the Registrar of Trade Marks of that Colony on the
proposed Convention with the Japanese Government for the
mutual protection of Trade Marks in China, I am directed
by Secretary Sir E.Grey to inform you that he proposes,
subject to the concurrence of the Secretary of State
for the Colonies, and of the Bourd of Trade, who have
also been consulted, to instruct His Majesty's Ambassa-
dor at Tokio to submit the draft Convention enclosed in
the letter from this Department of the 9th of December
last to the Japanese Government.
Sir E.Grey would also suggest that coples of this
draft Convention should be communicated to the
Manchester Chamber of Commerce end to the China Associa-
tion, and that they should be informed of the action
